Encinitas
Leucadia, Cardiff, Olivenhain and the village. Four or five towns in one zip code, and houses just as mixed.
Encinitas is four or five towns in one zip code, and the houses are just as mixed. A Leucadia cottage with three additions and no two walls from the same decade. A Cardiff house on the hill with the living room up top and the bedrooms underneath. An Olivenhain lot where the barn wants WiFi too. New construction in the village with every wall wired and a closet nobody has opened.
What the families have in common is why they're here. Nobody moved to Encinitas so the phones could run the house. That's most of what I hear in the first conversation. Not "we need faster WiFi." "We want dinner back."
What Encinitas families ask about most: a bedtime that works for kids of different ages, keeping the kids' devices off the same network as the cameras and the speakers, and the school Chromebook that seems to get around everything.
